We made it to the start of the trail and it brought back many memories. It'd been 5 years since me and Justin hiked that trail. I remember we had to stop every 100 feet cause I kept saying "my ankles hurt, my feet hurt, my knees are bad." We only made it halfway in an hour and decided to head back down. This time around I was destined to prove to myself that I was in shape and that I could make it to the top. So off we went.
The day was perfect for hiking-only 65 degrees and sunny. Rhett even made up a new song he sang most the way "We are climbing the mountain. We are not quitting, we are not quitting, right?" Then it was our turn to sing back "No we're not, No we're not!" "We are climbing the mountain. We will get to the top, we will get to the top, right?" Our singing response "Yes we will, Yes we will!" Its so cute our much they got into our physical exercise. And Rhett led the way, so he thought he was super special for being the leader.
When we made it to the top (it only took us 1 hour and 37 minutes), we sat down and ate "Ickabars" (granola bars) according to Ry. The view was amazing and Rhett kept saying "I can see the whole world." He asked a few times why he couldn't see Craig and Mandee's house, but we explained it once again. We would have stayed longer, but it was freezing. With the wind chill, it was only about 45 degrees. So we quickly headed back down. We stopped by Harmons for dinner on the way home. We shared a sub sandwich and chips in the deli and off we went. Our hike (5.5 miles up and back) was in the books.
It was a fantastic day and boy did we labor thru it, LOL. I am so proud of our family for doing this together and just enjoying eachother. We will soon be doing it again before it gets too cold and snowy. The Divide has 5 trails to start from in one location....so Rhett said we needed to try them all! Wow he has such motivation :)

The mountain we climbed

Start of the trail, long way to go....

....I know we can make it!

Rhett led the way to the very top. Ry kept saying "Follow me, I know the path"

The kids said they needed to give their legs a break so Justin thought he needed to take more pics....

Made it to the top. It was cold, but the view was totally worth it! North Ogden/Ogden is the background of the pics up top.

Time for a family pic. Pineview Dam is in this background

On our way down....Ry hitched a ride with Justin :)

My turn to hold Kenna! She loves her Mommy!
I'm so impressed...two reasons. 1-you're blogging more often, 2-you went on a hike instead of shopping in Park City. We must be sisters! Love it. Family is lookin good :)
