Rain Out

So I love the rain, but I don't like it when it messes up plans. We were going to go on a hike but its raining and lightning which is not suitable weather for hiking with a toddler and a baby. Also Rhett's soccer game got cancelled. Oh well, I am enjoying the cooler weather....68 degrees, St. George can't beat that!

The first week of school was so good. Rhett's teacher has a good discipline set in place. If they get in trouble they have to pull a card. They only get 4 chances a day. If they don't pull a card, they get a ticket. They also get tickets for good behavior towards others, helping out, or whatever warrants one. Rhett earned 6 tickets last week. When he gets enought, he can buy something out of the ticket chest. We are also helping to give incentive to Rhett to be good in school. For every week he goes without pulling a card, he gets $1.00 on Friday. He can save his money to buy whatever he wants. Of course he said he wants to buy a Star Wars lego set. It's $40.00, so we might have to help him out at the end of the year. He had such a hard year last year so I am glad these are set in place. It's been nice to see him so excited to have good behavior at school. And he thinks he's so rich to earn "paper money" as he calls it.

Rhett also had his back-to-school night last Thursday. Since I was working Justin took all the kids. He lucked out and got a parking space across the street. It was a packed school. But Rhett was so excited to show off his class, projects, and desk. His teacher said that he works really hard and he loves to please her by doing everything she asks and uses such good manners. Don't mean to brag, but it feels good to have our child acting so polite towards others and to be praised by the teacher. Let's hope he keeps it up.

Well in one week, Ry will start preschool. She is so excited to go to her "own school" with her backpack. I know I will be very sad. It's hard to let your kids grow up and do things on their own. But she needs the interaction. And I know she will just love it!

First Day of School

I cannot believe my little one is going to first grade. Time really does fly so spend as much time with your babies as you can. I am happy for him because he just thrives being at school.

Monday, August 23

Just about ready to go!

He's very proud of his Star Wars backpack

Walking to the bus stop

Loading into the bus....

....and off he goes

So our summer's officially over. We have had so much fun this year and were able to do a lot of fun things. I remember before summer started I listed to Rhett all our fun things were going to do....Rhett's Baseball Games, Disneyland, Harmons's Lagoon Day, Lagoon Bounceback-twice, Reunion Camping Trip, Hogle Zoo, Trip to St. George, and Party at the Roy Aquatic Center. And now we are all done and ready for school. Rhett has started soccer and will have games soon. And I really can't believe Ry starts preschool in one week. Ugh, why oh why so time have to go by so fast?

Our Weekend In St. George

So Deloy and Sharon are heading to Guatemala for 5 months to work on the temple. So I thought I should take the kids down to spend some quality time with them before they leave. Justin wasn't able to come with us because he had to work. We totally missed not having him with us and it was my first trip to St. George without him. But we still had a lot of fun with the fam.

At the Wildlife Museum, Friday August 20

The kids loved looking in their binoculars at the animals. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for getting the kids each their own pair.

PBC's not afraid of any bugs!

After looking at the animals, we stopped and played in the kids play area. They had lots of fun

Grandpa, Derrick, and Andrea

After the museum, we headed to Del Taco and then over to Derrick and Andrea's to let the kids play. Our kids totally loved all of Mason's very cool toys. Thanks Mason for sharing.

After the museum and being at Derrick and Andrea's, me and Sharon took Kenna to Target. When we got home, we found Grandpa had "tricked" Ry into taking a nap. Then he fell asleep too. It was a cute pic!

We went to feed the ducks, and kids loved it. The ducks were so hungry they came right up to the kids to eat the bread. Too bad Ry and Mason both got "bit" by the ducks, but it didn't stop them from having fun. Thanks Andrea for supplying the bread.

I didn't get as many pics as I would have liked cause my phone died. And of course I forgot to pack the charger. I would have loved to get the kids at the splash pad. But we had a lot of fun. I know the kids loved playing with Mason. They were inseparable the whole weekend. Peas in a Pod. Thanks Grandpa, Grandma, Derrick, Andrea, Mason, and Josh for a very fun weekend. Josh even taught Rhett how to play a fun version of Chess and Rhett won his first game of Battleship against me. Oh, and Josh thanks for the hmmm, fun discussion of Northern Utah v. St. George. I still pick Northern Utah. Not nearly as hot and it has snow. Though St. George is still a fun place to visit.

Our Weekend As Host

So Derrick, Andrea, and Mason came up to SLC and stayed with us. We loved having them here and the kids loved having Mason here to play with. We were able to do some fun activities.

Thursday, August 12...Chuck E Cheese
We absolutely love this place. And I love finding the good coupons to use there. I didn't get many pics cause I left my camera at home. J remembered his camera phone near the end. Thanks to Greg and Monica who came and hung out though I didn't get pics of them. They said they didn't like playing the games, but lo and behold they did get hooked on one. Thanks for being so good at that game. :)

Ry and Mason on the rocket ride

Friday, August 13...Hogle Zoo
Grandma really enjoyed spoiling all the kids at the zoo and the kids loved it also. She got them each their own snowcone, ice cream cone, and merry-go-round ride. Thanks Grandma for making them have such a fun day!

PBC's first snowcone...Thanks Rhett for sharing (She has had a lot of firsts this summer)

Mason, Ry, and Rhett is there....somewhere

Derrick and Mason are in the back of the pic, but I think Mason may not be able to be seen

Sunday, August 15...Time for Goodbyes

Man, we have got some cute kids!!!

Lovin the Zoo

So we had decided to find some fun things to do since we didn't buy Lagoon passes this summer. So we thought the Zoo would be fun since we hadn't been in 5 years. But when we got there to buy our admissions it was $46 for one day. So we did the smart thing. We bought a pass for a year for only $80. Talk about savings!!! We have had so much fun and everytime we go, the animals are doing something different. The kids have really enjoyed being there. Rhett's favorite is the snake house. Ry loves the playground.

New baby Zuri (well she just celebrated her 1st bday) and her mom

Zuri playing in the mud

A cluster of bats sleeping....they smealt really bad too

Time to wake up little chicky....I think he can be so dramatic sometimes!

The orangutan covered himself up to take a nap. It was quite fun to watch.
