Happy Easter

Today was a great Easter...even with barely any sleep. I got the kiddos up and dressed so we could take a few pics. Despite their pretty smiles, it took a lot of re-takes and bribes of candy. They must not have gotten a lot of sleep, because they were so fussy, but at least we got them (Ry even said, "That's the last picture for the rest of my life.) Thanks Oakers for letting Kodes "borrow" your pink necklace and to Mandee for the pretty pearl bracelets for Kenna and Ry.

After church, I came home and got the jello and deviled eggs ready for dinner at Dawn's house. Ry got a hold of my camera and asked me to pose. When I told her I would do it later, she said, "Well you made us do pictures all day..." Yup, DRAMA!

Then it was quickly back to the eggs...

We got to Dawn's and had the Easter hunt first. Last Easter, I clearly remember saying, "J, just think... In one year, Kodee will be here picking up her own Easter candy. Isn't that nuts? I know it'll go by fast." And it surely did.

It was a fun day and getting to spend it with family makes it that much funner. I cannot believe Easter is already over...

Easter Prep

It's that time...a long and busy day, but fun for getting ready for Easter tomorrow. We started the day out by going to the Syracuse City Egg Hunt. I've never been, but everyone said how fun it is. They did such an awesome job by roping off different areas for the different age groups: 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and a special needs area. They had a TON of candy, little toys, and coupons for everyone. They even had an area for first come first serve free Easter baskets. Rhett had been throwing up all night so he asked if he could stay home. So I got the girls ready and made sure to get there early. But we got there super early, so I let the girls play on the playground.

We then met up with Annie, Bon Bon, Amy, Melissa Skousen, and all the kiddos.

The egg hunt started...Ry did pretty well alone, but Kenna got 1 egg before she got trampled. So she cried and I moved her into the 0-2 age range. But the thing about the hunt is, it starts at 10am sharp, and it's over about 1009am! So by the time we moved and I helped Kodes get 1 egg, it was over...

Thankfully, Melissa Skousen and Mary Elizabeth Davis shared some of their kids treats with my girls. We'll be better next year! After the hunt was over, we met with Annie and took pics with the fire truck.

We decided it was time to get home to Rhett and have some relaxing time before we had dinner and dyed eggs that night.
When J got home, we got everything set up to dye eggs. I think Kodes was the most excited...which was fun because this time last year she was in my belly. And of course, it seems just like yesterday...

After we were done, I got the kiddos in bed so the Easter bunny could come and bring them their basket of goodies!

I then got my tools out, to build J's book shelf for his Easter present. He has so many books, this will keep them nice and organized by his bed.
I'm excited to see the kiddos in the morning. I know they will love it!
