Family Time

A few weeks ago, my Mom and Dad invited J and Rhett to a Jazz game. Since they got free tickets in the lower bowl which were better than their season seats, they sold their season seats so all 4 of them could sit together.
I wasn't sure if Rhett would like it, cause the last game he went to (a few years ago) he laid under our seats the entire game. This time, he was into the game the entire time...when he wasn't talking my Mom's ear off. She thought it was so funny when he kept giving her vocabulary lessons! He would try to "jinx" the other team's free throws, yell DEFENSE, and just cheer his heart out. The game went into double overtime, and sadly the Jazz lost. But they didn't care cause they had so much fun.
After the game, they went down on the court to try and get Harpring's autograph on my jersey. The usher said he wouldn't do it, though when Matt looked at them he seemed easy going like he wouldn't have minded if she had just asked. Another usher felt bad she was being so crabby, he gave Rhett a free basketball!

Ever since that night, he is really into all the games. He asks everyday when the next Jazz game is and just sits and watches intently. But what guy doesn't like sports?!

A few nights after the boy's Jazz game, the kids said they wanted to make sugar cookies. I was ok with it cause I was actually craving them. During the day, me and the kids made the recipe and cut out the cookies. It took a lot longer than I thought it would but we still made the best of it. That night after J got home from work, we made delicious chicken fajitas (R now calls them world-famous like my tacos!) After dinner, we frosted and decorated our cookies while we watched the Jazz game. We all enjoyed each other's company and the kids really enjoyed being able to do a fun activity.

Happy Valentine's Day

Whew! Today was a busy, but wonderful day. I started the morning by getting Rhett off to school with his Valentine's for his class. Then Ry woke up to decorated banners and streamers cause it's her birthday. She was so excited...that and the birthday fairy came while she was sleeping to fill her shoe with dimes!

She started the day with a new pink outfit which she loved and headed to school with her Valentine's for her class and a special birthday treat to pass out. She came home with so much more...stuffed monkey and book/crayons from teacher, Valentine's from her classmates, birthday balloon, and birthday hat. She was beaming with all her goodies.

After we got everything situated away, we had a special Valentine lunch at Liz's house. She was super cute and creative...heart-shaped pita bread for little pizzas and an array of toppings the kids got to choose from. Then chicken salad sandwiches with crackers and dip for the ladies. Also Melissa made yummy cake pops which were heavenly (I wouldn't mind eating a dozen more of those yummy things.) Then we sang to Ry for her birthday which was so special. She felt so happy everyone cared. As we left she said, "Mom, we have nice friends who love us." I can only totally agree.
After Liz's house, we stopped by my Mom's work to deliver a special Valentine for a special Grandma. The girls were so excited to see her and give her loves (after they recognized her without her "white hair hat"). My Mom even got all her ladies to sing to Ry with the special Birthday Hat. She again was beaming from all the attention. But it was so nice of everyone to sing before they left for the day. We left her work with cupcakes for later and a sad Kenna who just wanted more Grma!
When we finally got home, I was able to get little one to nap while me and Ry built her new Ariel puzzles for hours. When Rhett and J got home we were able to continue with the birthday/Valentine celebration.
We had a gift card to Applebees and Rhett had earned a free kids meal there from school, so we were set for a yummy free meal. We got there just before the Valentine rush...we even snagged their last free table. And boy I was glad because waiting to eat with hungry kids is not fun. We had a wonderful waitress who was so accommodating and got the other waiters to sing Happy Birthday to Ry. They even gave her a free ice cream sundae...which she shared with everyone.

After dinner, we drove over to Chuck E. Cheese because they gave Ry 20 free tokens for her birthday. She said they could all share them which turned out great because it was another free activity for the kids to have fun. Most of the rides and games were broken, so it turned out good we didn't have a lot of tokens to use.

When we got home, we sang to Ry again and let her blow out her candle. Then all the kiddos enjoyed Valentine cupcakes from Grandma...thanks again! Ry opened her present Rhett had got for her. He earned enough Apple Bucks at school to "buy" her some butterfly sunglasses.

We were all so wiped out from our long day. It didn't take long to get everyone ready and into bed. As I tucked Ry into bed, she thanked everyone for being so nice to her. She really had a wonderful birthday, got sang to a lot, and just relished in the love around her. Thank you to everyone for helping make her day so special.

Growing Up

I just took Kenna for her 2 year check-up. Yep I know, I am a tad behind but at least I took her in before she turned 3!

That morning when I got K up, she said as she always says, "I want to see Grma and Papa." I told her we wouldn't see them today. She is just so attached to my parents, it's super cute she's always asking to see them. Then the next statement she always says, "I wanna go to the dr. I wanna go the dentist." She just cracks me up that she always wants to go somewhere every morning. But when I said, "Yes, we're going to the dr," she just squealed and was super excited.
Since Ry was at school, it was just me and K. When we walked in to the waiting room, she was very calm and sat right down until her name was called. The nurse asked her to step up on the scale, and she did right away. Then she asked her to stand against the wall to get her height, and she lined up the correct way. I was so impressed what a big girl she was being.
We were led to a room with a fire truck and waited for her dr. When he came in, I thought she might be a little scared. But she wasn't. He looked at her and started asking her questions, which she answered. He was super impressed and said that I was lucky to have a smart little girl cause a lot of girls her age don't have a conversation like that....Duh, I knew that!
She was so cute at her appointment and she was already caught up on her immunizations so no shots. She was so happy when we left with her sucker and a sticker. She also just had a huge growth spurt in the last 6 months, so her current stats:

Height: 35.8 inches (68%)
Weight: 29.4 pounds (67%)
Head: 18.5 inches (25%)

It's amazing how much she grew. She's only 4 pounds lighter than Ry, though she doesn't look huge. I think it's because Ry is just super tiny.
Well here are some other fun things K says and does...
*melonwater = watermelon
*lemonwater = lemons
*pizzi = pizza
*Her favorite movie is "Tangled". Anytime you ask her what movie she wants to watch, she grabs the Rapunzel case before you can even get the question out.
*Every night before bed, she has to put together her Mickey Mouse puzzle with J. She always picks out the 4 pieces of his face and waits to put them in last.
*Every morning she wakes up, the first thing she says is cereal, spoon, drink. But she says it so fast, it sounds like one word.
*Everytime J comes home, she runs as fast as she can to him and hops on his foot. Then she has him "walk" her around while she giggles.
*Everyday before her nap, she asks me to sit. (in her room and rock her) One of my favorite parts of the day...when she's snuggly.
*On Sunday mornings she loves to get ready for church. She goes around telling everyone that she's going to class to play toys and eat, lol!
*She loves to impersonate J's "stern" look. It's hilarious!
*Whenever you ask her, "Where's the pretty girl?" She just looks at you and gives you the biggest cheese smile.

I could go on and on about this little girl. We just love her personality and can't get enough of her. We are so glad she's part of our family!

Superbowl Fun

On Sunday the 5th, it was Superbowl. Though none of our teams were playing, me and J still dressed up in our team shirts and headed over to Dawn and Jason's. I was so excited to eat and boy we had quite the spread...pizza, fries with fry sauce, cheese filled breadsticks, veggie tray with dip, cocktail wienies, shrimp platter, chips, chocolate, my Mom's yummy marshmallow popcorn, and drinks.
We sort of watched the game, but we had a funner time skyping with Mandee and her fam and talking. It was a really easy going night with family and we had a lot of fun. After the game, we celebrated Ry's birthday a bit early. I made a cookie monster cake which we had with peppermint and chocolate ice cream.

My mom made her the cutest "princess" dress. She had picked out the pattern one night when we were over at my mom's. She was in heaven. She seriously loves to dress up in it even though we tell her its a church dress...she just insists its her dress-up princess dress. So thanks Mom for being so talented and making her the perfect dress. She just raves about it everyday. Along with the toy mixer they got her. Her and Kenna have fun whipping up treats in their kitchen with it.

So thanks again to everyone for a fun evening.
