Whoo, This Is a Doozy Of Our Halloween Activites!

(I have been so behind. So here is a massive blog spot of the things we have been up to the last couple of weeks. Sorry its long-but enjoy)

We had our annual Halloween bday party at our house on the 29th. We had started our night off with a skype session with Deloy in Guatemala. Then when everyone got here (even Shelly came with her girls Lexy and Ashlynn) we enjoyed our traditional soft shelled tacos, corn, 7-layer dip, chips and salsa, pies, and J's must have-homemade witches brew which the kids totally loved the smoking (thanks J and Kyle for making it a success) There was so much left over that J took it to his Halloween buffet at work the next day and his co-workers enjoyed it all gone!
We also had an array of dressed up characters, scary music, ambient lighting, rowdy kids, strewn toys, lots of fun, loud laughter, and the fave of the night....the ever CHAOTIC 3-way skype session (everyone here in Utah, my sis, her hubby, and daughter with my sis-in-law and her kids in Maine, and my bro in India) We are so lucky to have this kind of technology. It was so great to see my fam so far away because it's been so long since I've seen them face to face. It was a great talk, but it made me miss them even more. We can't wait to get out there and visit. We love and miss them dearly.
Overall, the night was fun and the kids got some really great gifts. Thanks to everyone for the cutest clothes (you must have known we really needed them now and later in the spring) and the fun toys. Yall are so generous to treat our kids. When the night had to end all the kids were treated with fun party favor bags...which I love to do. It makes it feel like a party! It's been a whirlwind of events this month. Now comes trick or treating which I will post next.

On the 28th, I was able to accompany Ry with her class to their fieldtrip...Black Island Farms. We had a lot of fun. Naomi just happened to stop by to carpool-what a saint. She is always so helpful. We were able to take a trailer ride to the pumpkin patch where we learned about how carrots, onions, and corn grow and then we all picked out a pumpkin. Then we were able to play in their HUGE play area...train rides, slides, petting zoo, mazes, corn kernal pit, pumpkin bouncy. It was enough to wear the girls out. When we got home they ate lunch and passed out. It was fun to see Ry with her school mates and how much fun she has with them.

We had Justin's bday on the 25th. He had to work most the day (though he got to see Brett Michaels tour bus) so when he got home we only had time for dinner. We went with Sharon to Outback Steakhouse and ate some yummy food. And PBC was finally over her cold/sore throat and teething that she was actually happy and smiley. We opened presents, then it was time to get kids in bed for school the next day. We will do part 2 on a day when we are off and can enjoy it....hopefully soon!

What Justin got for his bday....Go Brazil Soccer!

This year we finally went to the Syracuse Pumpkin Walk on the 22nd. It was the biggest they'd ever had. We waited in line for over an hour but the kids really wanted to walk thru and it was worth it. There were sooo many pumpkins on display courtesy of the civilians of Syracuse. It was really cold and late (which was helpful because J was able to join us after work) but all in all it was really fun to get out and enjoy the festivities. Thanks to Sharon, Monica, Josh, and Jessica for joining us!

Ry's favorite. She loves Wendy's!!

I think everyone's favorite of the night (If you can't quite read it "Help stop youth obesity")

  5. Man I love you girls! Thanks! We had a fun Oct, minus my strep and tonsillitis at Halloween, it was pretty great. Mandee, can't wait to see you in one month. And Kathleen and Liz, we did that pic in St. George over UEA. Hoping we can get this girl to do our fam pics on Monday....fingers crossed she can do it, the weather is cooperable, and the kids are happy!!!
