Rain Or Shine

Today J had the day off...yes he finally had a Saturday off. So we decided to take the kids to Hogle Zoo since we have a yearly pass. The weather said it may rain, but usually it's never right on. Well, today they were. As soon as we got inside the Zoo, the heavens opened and it started to POUR! We hurried to find covered ground which we did under the "Beastro." We decided to eat our lunch right there as we watched most people run to their cars.

Luckily, it only rained for about 40 min. So many people had left, the zoo was not very crowded. After lunch I needed to pump so I headed to the Mother's Room. It has a separate room with door and furnished with a rocking chair, table, and outlets. It was so nice to have some privacy. While I pumped, J took the kiddos to see the Asian Highlands and of course they wanted to take pics on the tigers.
In the first pic, Ry was mad she didn't get to hold Kodee so she was pouting in the background. Of course, J caved and let her hold her in their own pic.

We finally met up and went to see the new Rocky Mountain Shores. It was actually pretty cool because the polar bears came right up to the window.

We then headed inside to watch the sea lions and sea otters at play. In the building, you're able to watch them underwater and go back outside to see them above.

Next we were off to see the eagles...and we caught a couple in the nest!

Time-out for a shot with the kiddos

It was just about closing time, so before we left, we let the kiddos ride the merry-go-round. Luckily, they get to ride it for free as much as they want with our pass. J even decided to ride with them.

We wouldn't let the rain scare us away, and it ended up being a very nice day...long and exhausting, but we had so much fun. I truly treasure our family outings and making these fun memories with our kiddos.
