Locks Of Love

Today was monumental...I've never cut the girls' hair, ever. Not even a trim. But today I was brushing their hair and it kept getting tangled. I was so annoyed with it, I decided it was finally time for a hair cut. And since I needed to cut J and Rhett's hair, we made it a hair cutting party.
I started by putting the girls' hair in a ponytail and cutting it off...making sure it was at least 10 inches long.
Kenna was first...

I didn't anticipate to cut so much off, but I'm such a perfectionist that I kept cutting and cutting until I thought it was even enough. Then I tried to cut and frame around her face. I have to say, I absolutely love it...even if it's sooo much shorter than originally planned. But her hair is so soft and fine, some little kid will be so lucky to have her hair. I have to admit, I held her ponytail of hair and I was sad about it...
Then it was Ry's turn...

Her hair was easy to cut because she has thin hair like I do. And she also didn't move, so I was able to get it even pretty quick. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it short. I don't know why I waited so long to cut it!
In the end, it was sad to cut their hair. But they were more than happy to give their hair to children who don't have any. In Ry's words, "Some kids aren't lucky. So we should help them...that's why they can have mine." So sweet and selfless. I'm so glad they loved this experience.

For future reference for others....
