We couldn't believe how much she has grown. She's had such a huge growth spurt in the last few months, that she has stretched right out...though she's still pretty solid, she's very tall for her age. While we waited for Dr. Owen, she did what she loves the most, read! She got the books out, and read them to me and Kodes in her cute voice. Her favorite quote she says on almost every page, "And all day long..." I could listen to her read "all day long!"
The appointment didn't last too long, and he was very happy with her progress. She's right on track with everything she should know at this age, and growing great!
Some fun things about Kenna at 3...
*She is left-handed. No matter how much I tried to help her to be right-handed, she'll switch her crayon, pencil, pen, etc to her left hand. She eats, throws a ball, writes, and colors with her left hand. She even favors things to her left side.
*She still has very long, sandy blond hair. Her hair grows crazy fast!
*As I said before, she loves to read. When she goes to bed at night, she has to have at least 10 books stacked in her bed. And when you tuck her in, you'll hear her reading herself and her babies/stuffed animals to sleep.
*She loves playing with Ry. Their fave song is "Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty, when Rose is dancing and singing in the forest on her 16th birthday. Both girls know the words and they dance together as they sing it. Then Kenna will say, "Ry, you're my best friend."
*She's starting to play with her babies more. Sometimes I hear her playing in her room, so I'll peek my head in and she'll be talking, feeding, or rocking her babies to sleep. It's so cute how she likes to be a Mommy. Her fave baby right now is Baby Brooks.
*She says hamburber or hamaber instead of hamburger. She says boink instead of bank.
*When we were eating at Costco one day, she saw this cute grandpa. She whispered ever so softly in my ear, "Mom, look at the Grandpa. He's so smart. It's cause he's a boy!"
*She loves her rain boots we bought her for our trip to WA last year. It's the first pair of shoes she grabs when we are going anywhere.
Last week, on our way home, a song she liked came on the radio. I hear her feet scuffling on the back of my chair, so I turn around to see what she's doing. She says, "Mom, look! My boots are dancin. They like this song!"
*She doesn't like to nap, but regardless, I still make her have a quiet time almost every day. So the other day, I notice her head peering our of her room...she was not very happy about being there.
It totally reminded me of Rhett, when he was 3, and how he didn't like quiet time either. One time, Rhett even fell asleep, as he was peering out of the same room (when it was his)
*Kenna doesn't have a full button. She'll eat and eat and eat. We have to cut her off, or she'll keep going until she gets sick, and throws up. I guess the plus side of that is she isn't too picky. So she'll try everything at least once.
*She loves being girly and playing dress-up. Whether it be all the girl things...jewelry, sunglasses, purses, shoes, and dresses, or being a Backyardigan (the pirate episode)
*On the other hand, as much as she likes to be girly, she loves to be like the boys as well. J was fixing the screws on the recliner, so she said she wanted to be like Daddy too and do her job!
You can never get enough of this little girl. She just oozes and oozes personality and spunk. Even on her worst day, she can get you to smile...at least once. I'm so lucky and grateful for little PBC in our life!
