It Happened....

It finally happened! The day came! There was nothing we could do to stop it! Kenna had her bday and turned 1! It was a low-key day, but we just loved and spoiled her as much as we could. We got Rhett off to school, and then I introduced Zumba to my friend Kathleen while Kenna slept. It was really fun, and she liked it too. When I got home, we dropped Ry off to school, woke Kenna up from her nap, and took her out for lunch at Wendys. Then we hit the yogurt shop. She got to try her first non-fat yogurt which she absolutely loved. The strawberries on top were her fave. After everyone got home from school, we met Josh and Jess at Applebees for Kennas bday dinner.
On the way to dinner Kenna fell asleep and we had to wake her up again. I think that's why she was so grouchy all night. We got yummy food, they sang happy birthday (the videos are at the bottom), she wore her bday tiara, opened her present from Josh and Jess, and then it was time to call it a night. I am so sad yet happy she's one. I keep thinking back to last year and what we were doing then. Kenna and I were still in the hosp being pampered and enjoying our quality time together. It seems like yesterday. It really did go by so fast.
The other kids are doing pretty good. Rhett is so smart in class. He passes off his reading books everyday. His homework packets that are supposed to last all week, he gets done in an hour. We may be talking to his teacher to give him more. He actually gets sad when he finishes so early and has nothing left to do all week. My smart boy. Ry on the other hand, I hope she catches up :) She loves school, but mostly because its social. I know its the age, but I still worry. I guess shes getting things little by little, and maybe I think it should happen faster. But its great she loves going to school and knows what its all about.
My work has now entered busy time. Justin has stayed busy. But the time we actually get away we savor. We are excited for this UEA wknd so we can all be together as a fam. We are going to St George to hang with J's fam and celebrate Kenna, J, and Rhetts bdays. It should be really fun. On the agenda....corn maze, hay ride, maybe a fam pic, bday party, smash cake for Kenna, Fiesta Fun, golf, and road trip. Looking forward to this weekend. Eating her first frozen non-fat yogurt..... .....which she loved! Little Miss Diva! I love when they started singing she just sat and stared at them so quietly. But then again, they came with ice cream...which she loves!
